Special Events (Proposed Programming):

Let’s Get Creative – the center will offer hands-on craft activities such as scrapbooking, foam art, painting, drawing, and seasonal art projects through a weekly class.

  • Terrific Tots– songs, games, dance, stories, exercise and educational play will occupy parents and tots (ages 1-4) for hour-long weekday group sessions.
  • K.I.M.’s Art Classes– local artists will come to the center to help beginning artists to explore a variety of forms and textures to create their own take-home projects, including painting, pottery, sculpture and more.
  • Libraries Alive! – Parents will be able to read and share stories with their children in a safe, soothing and comfortable setting.  Parents will also be able to borrow backpacks filled with fun, educational activities and projects they can do with their children at home.  Backpacks will be purchase from Lakeshore Learning Company.
  • Tech Kidz – children of all ages will learn basic and advanced skills on PC units including word, PowerPoint, Excel, KidWorks Deluxe Story Maker, Type to Learn Jr., basic web-page design and Internet Surfing Safety for KidZ..  (not limited to)
  • After School Enrichment – children will be able to come to the museum after school for 2 hours of supervised exhibit activity and educational fun.  Tutors will also have the opportunity to rent a space in the education room for a nominal donation to the facility and host tutoring classes at low rates to the public.

    Kids In Motion Summer Camp– special summer programs with sessions in drama, music, crafts, computers, sign-language, themed activities, and educational fun will be offered.

    Parenting Workshops– guest speakers, activities, and group discussions will give parents the opportunity to meet and find support form other parents in the community.

    K.I.M.’s Speaks – children will engage in learning Sign-Language, signing through music and everyday phrases.  Parents can learn sign to communicate with the youngest of children to create an effective means to understand the needs of their child.

    Mommie and Me – a full hour of fun and interaction with your child through their eyes.  Along with a trained facilitator, parents can learn the best ways to develop coordination, balance, communication and interaction to enhance physical abilities and foster independence.

    Daddies Day Out – finally a time for Dads, this full hour of creative play, educational activities, crafts, role-play and just plain fun, will allow children to interact with Dad in a positive way.  Our instructor will guide Dads through different activities, as well as old favorites, each week.

    Multi-Purpose – the museum will be available to school groups, home schools, day care centers, religious/social youth groups and others for field trips, facility rentals, birthday parties and more.

    Drama, Drama and More Drama! – weekly role-play, small plays, Readers’ Theatre, and imagination will be encouraged in this 1 hour long class of fun, drama, and dress-up!
